Response To Barbara47

July 27, 2005 / by SobbinBloggin

Their deal is this: When someone gets hurt with the government, they go on pay retention, which means I get the same pay that I made (in this case) as an X-ray tech. So, if they just have me answer phones, I still get paid as a tech. That's ok in itself except they don't want to pay all that money to someone who can't do much more than answer a phone. I was hurt permanently and they want me to retire with a disability because it would save them money. It's all about money and I won't give in to them. This makes them angry so they give me jobs that I really shouldn't be doing to try to force me out. I see the "game" and I've told them to their face I won't play it their way (in so many words). That's the deal. I would take the retirement, but my hubby doesn't make enough money to live on without my income. So I'm between a rock and a hard place. I just don't know which way to go. Working only aggravates my physical condition, but my husband doesn't seem to be concerned. He doesn't say anything. I just know that money is his "god" and it is most important to him. I'm a paycheck. That's how I feel.

I just read you are an x-ray tech. My son is in school now for 2 years to do that! He went and spent the day at the hospital and LOVED it. Hopefully that is just a start,he wants to be a radiologist, but wants to start making $$ first. Everyone needs a dream, right? Take Care, Cindy
